When I heard that Carole Matthews had a new Christmas book out called The Christmas Party, I couldn’t wait to read it as I loved her book Calling Mrs Christmas in 2013.
The story follows the key characters who are part of a huge global corporate company at their work Christmas party. Work hard and play hard is the theme in this story and the Christmas party is the pinnacle of the year where all staff get to enjoy themselves, drink, eat and be merry.

New year and I thought I would try a new way of reading books, via the Kindle app. So my first book was The Christmas Spirit by Susan Buchanan. I came across Susan’s book as she promoted it on Twitter and it sounded like an interesting story.

While waiting at the airport to fly home for Christmas I was browsing at the book shop and came across the delightful book A Dog for Christmas by W. Bruce Cameron (published in USA as The Dogs of Christmas). It sounded like a lovely story. A Christmas to Remember by Katie Flynn was the second of my Christmas season books. (Calling Mrs Christmas by Carole Matthews was the first Christmas season book) I have never read any of Katie Flynn’s books before but picked this one because it is a historical story based in post war Liverpool and seemed interesting. I wanted a lovely Christmas book to curl on up the sofa and read during the Christmas season and Calling Mrs Christmas by Carole Matthews seemed perfect. I wasn’t disappointed as I loved this story. Carole created a Christmassy story full of sparkle, cheer and love.

With only a week until the magical Christmas day, my tree is decorated with shiny baubles and twinkling lights and my party dress is ready to be worn to the parties. Volunteering at a charity carol concert has also got me into the Christmas mood.
