Calling Mrs Christmas by Carole Matthews

I wanted a lovely Christmas book to curl on up the sofa and read during the Christmas season and Calling Mrs Christmas by Carole Matthews seemed perfect. I wasn’t disappointed as I loved this story. Carole created a Christmassy story full of sparkle, cheer and love.

We follow Cassie who comes up with an amazing idea, after months of unemployment, of setting up a business where she helps people with Christmas. Learning new skills in calligraphy, wrapping presents professionally and organising parties she makes a success of the business with the support of boyfriend Jim. But then Cassie meets Carter, a rich, handsome man, who asks her to decorate his house and organise an amazing trip for his children. But Cassie goes on the trip to Lapland with Carter and with a spark between them, she has to decide who she really loves and wants to spend the rest of her life with.

Carole has created a captivating story and we really care about the characters. Along with getting to know Cassie we also get to know Jim who has a heart of gold supporting Cassie and trying to support 2 young offenders make a new start when released. This makes the love triangle interesting as we are also torn on who to urge Cassie to go with. Who does she chose? – well you will have to read the book if you haven’t already!

It also is a story that shows how important family and friends are and makes you realise how important it is to remember those who may be by themselves at Christmas. If you want a story that will put you in a Christmas mood, provides warm fuzzy feelings, makes you feel you are with the characters in Lapland and brings the true meaning of Christmas joy this is for you.

Have you read this book – what did you think?
